SONGS & STORIES FROM “THE BLUE VELVET COUCH”
“Songs & Stories From The Blue Velvet Couch: Season One: The Complete Series” (8-part Facebook Live Series: July - August 2020)
In 2020, with the global pandemic in full swing, Jeffrey & I hosted an 8-week, Summer Facebook Live Show, “Songs & Stories from The Blue Velvet Couch.” It was a weekly, 60-minute show featuring songs, special guest performances and interviews with local musicians and people who inspired the songs, as well as online conversations with friends and fans. Over the course of the series, I ran through an original catalogue of 25+ songs. Jeffrey recorded everything. You can listen and download the first three shows on my bandcamp page.
YOU ARE THE SONGS OF MY HEART
“YOU ARE THE SONGS OF MY HEART” (single release: 10/16/16)
Kristin & I got married at the Harborview Hotel in Edgartown, Massachusetts. We celebrated an extraordinary weekend with close friends and family.
Our wedding was filled with my songs. I mean, what would a songwriter’s wedding be without dedicated songs for my wife? At the pre-wedding reception event, Marc Mecoli & I unveiled a song I had written for Kristin specifically for our wedding entitled, "Hallelujah."
Two of my good friends, Marc Broering & Marc Mecoli, re-arranged six of my songs into guitar / violin instrumentals that they played for our guests as they arrived to be seated on our wedding day and as Kristin and I walked down the aisle together after our ceremony. I think I cried tears of JOY, the entire time! I can’t believe how blessed we are, I blessed I am!
Sarah Jane Lapp, a dear friend and award-winning American artist, created a companion video and puzzle. Those are the songs & video are below.

PAST PROJECTS
MUSIC SAMPLER of emetrex, hallucinating arkansas & BLAIR’S CARRIAGE
Prior to becoming a solo singer-songwriter, I was a founding member, bass player & (sometimes) drummer of emetrex, a Boston-based indie alternative rock band. The band signed a record deal in 2000 with Seriously Groovy Records, an independent London-based label. While on Seriously Groovy Records, we put out 9 CD's & EP's: over 50 songs between 2000 - 2005, including the critically acclaimed "King of Animals" single which received BBC airplay and was supported with a tour through England, Ireland & Scotland. The band received over 500 reviews including a 5/5 stars in The Big Issue (April 2005), for our "Wish Me Dead" release including this comment, "...hold on, it might just be one of the best albums of the year!"
Prior to emetrex, I was also an original member & bass player of the post-punk band Blair’s Carriage. We signed with Subcorridor Records releasing “tepid / everyone I know” as a limited edition 7" single. In total, Blair’s Carriage released five EP’s & singles (20 songs) over a period of four years. Becoming a regional favorite in Providence & Boston, we played hundreds of shows opening for a number of headlining bands including: Blind Melon, the Smithereens, Soup Dragons, Buffalo Tom, the Guess Who and Edgar Winter. We also received regular airplay on WBRU, the biggest alternative rock station in Rhode Island as well as many college stations across New England.
