“If you are always trying to be normal, you will never know how amazing you can be.”

– Maya Angelou

On Wednesday, I published Insights Into Life, 1 – 5. Below are Insights, 6 – 10.

As I said on Wednesday, when I started to organize my journal publishing project last year, a friend suggested I summarize what I had learned after all these years of journaling. And, after reading back through different sections of my journals, in about two hours, my initial list had over 40 insights. I gave the list to a few friends to read through, to get their reactions and to see which ones resonated more than others. The questions they asked me, and the ones they wanted to know more about, helped me get the list you are now reading down to 10. As the year goes on, I plan to publish more insights, stay tuned…

We also made videos for them and are calling our initial creative concept, typewriter asmr. We started posting them on Instagram reels and tiktok a few weeks ago. You can watch them on the typewriter asmr page of my website or find them on YouTube. We would love to get your feedback or reaction to them.

So, here are an additional 5 things I’ve learned about life…

6.    Life has a lot more to offer then the way of society & man

Look to experience things beyond the desires of ordinary men. Experience nature. Experience God. Experience your own creative expression. Experience a good heart. Experience love. There are 10,000 small joys to be experienced by following your imagination, intuition & instinct.

7.    Life is an illusion. Find your truth.

How well do you think you know yourself? How honest are you with who you really are? How willing would you be to go back and see yourself for who you really are in the moments of your life? Are you willing to confront yourself?

Most of us have this perception of ourselves that we are, in general nice people. We believe we do the right things, more times than not. We believe we treat people the best we can. We think we have good intentions of showing others good intentions, actions of kindness and charity. But if, upon closer inspection, we go back and come face to face with the reality of all our actions, words and deeds in the actual moments of your life, it would be humbling.

I have this same perception, that I am a certain kind of person, generally good, with certain good qualities.

After rereading the details of my daily entries, there is a definitely a difference between the person I believe I am, the person I project out into the world, the person I remember myself to be and the person I really am. I have been working to come to terms with these conflicting perspectives to learn, to forgive and to move forward.

To read my own actions, my own thoughts, my own experiences in my own words, as a “neutral, passive observer, years later is a unique experience. I try not to justify or rationalize past behavior, thoughts or actions. They are what they are. It’s about accepting it, processing it and learning from it, to move forward.

From all of this I have found it’s crucial to find what’s real in our life. Look beyond self-deception. Stop rationalizing bad behavior when you realize you’re doing it. Be as honest as you can about who you are, what you believe and what you stand for. Get to your truth. And remember; the only truth is love.

8.    Express your gratitude, optimism & happiness whenever & wherever you can.

What are the ideals that motivate you in your life?

Your north stars of personal characteristics?

Last year I worked on a project to determine and define the characteristics that were most important to me. My idea was to identify 52 characteristics that I would create weekly positive messages around, picking one word per week to focus on. Some of those words included:

  • Gratitude: the quality of being thankful; readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness.

  • Optimism: hopefulness and confidence about the future or the successful outcome of something.

  • Happiness: a state of well-being and contentment; JOY

I have found that being grateful for everything in my life has changed the way I experience it and the way I interact with life’s energy. The active act of:

Being grateful + demonstrating optimism and expressing happiness has led to so many positive experiences in my life.

9.    Having genuine, authentic friends is a gift you should always celebrate & recognize… and never take for granted.

Genuine friendship is a gift. Do your best to never take it for granted. I have had friends and friendships when I was younger that I took for granted in the past. Those moments were all mistakes. All I can do is move forward and do my best to do things differently.

Tell your true friends how much you appreciate them, love them and are grateful for their presence in your lives.

10.  Put love into every situation in your life.

Love is life itself. Love is our living energy, the soul, the consciousness in all things.

Love is everywhere, in every living thing, all the time, at the same time.

Love is the essence of existence.

Everything and everyone is one with Love and Love is one with us.

Therefore, we are all one with one another & everything.

We all come from the same Source, where we all return.

God is Love & therefore, we are Love.

I would love to get your comments! Please feel free to share any of your life insights.

Love & Light!
